Children change faster than almost anything in life. The child you see today won’t be the same a year from now, the expressions, the curiosity, the way they move through the world.
My philosophy is that children’s photography should preserve more than appearance. It should capture character. The goal isn’t simply a record of what your child looked like at a certain age, but artwork that reflects who they were in this brief chapter of life.
Years from now, these portraits become more than images. They become a reminder of a season that passed too quickly, and a way to hold onto it.
Every child is different, and no two sessions are ever exactly alike. Some children are energetic and adventurous, while others are quiet and observant. My approach is to work with your child's personality rather than against it.
Rather than expecting children to sit perfectly still, I create an environment where they can relax, explore, and be themselves. The goal is to create portraits that feel natural, timeless, and uniquely representative of your child.
With over 30 years of fine art training, I bring a foundation of classical composition, lighting, and visual storytelling to every portrait I create. This background allows me to see beyond surface expression and focus on how light, gesture, and timing work together to define personality.
In children's portraiture, it means understanding how to work with natural expression rather than forcing it, and how to use subtle shifts in light and positioning to reveal character.
The result is work that is not only technically refined, but emotionally honest and enduring.

With over 30 years of experience in composition, light, and visual storytelling, my work is grounded in fine art principles rather than trend-based photography.
As a father, I also understand how quickly childhood changes and how easy it is to overlook the small details that define each stage of growth.
That combination shapes how I approach every children’s session. I focus on patience, observation, and creating an environment where children can simply be themselves. Rather than directing rigid poses, I look for natural expression and personality as it unfolds.
The result is portraits that reflect who a child truly was in that moment, not just how they looked.
